Band Camp Info!

We will be mostly outside, so be prepared for the weather each day. 

  • Lunch will have to be brought with you every day. Students are not permitted to leave to get lunch. Dinners will be provided by the Band Boosters on late days.

  • Bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen. If you get sunburned on the first day then every day after will be miserable.

  • We will be learning the full show so make sure you are prepared! Bring: a binder, a pencil, and have your show music memorized.

  • Eat a healthy and filling breakfast every morning. I know some don't usually eat breakfast or eat a minimal breakfast but it's important when you are in the sun all day, burning calories, that you have proper fuel in your body. Everytime a person doesn't feel well at band camp, it's because they forget to eat breakfast or are dehydrated. Avoid sugary foods and caffeine. Please take this seriously.

  • Hydration is extremely important. See the note below:

High temperatures can get extreme during the summer. It's important to make hydration a priority. Three days before band camp starts please begin drinking at least a gallon of water a day. We will give you plenty of water breaks during band camp but the most important hydration takes place before band camp begins to give you the best start. Avoid caffeinated/sugary drinks/soda because they will dehydrate you. Water is your best bet!
