You are probably reading the subject of this email and wondering "What is a Mattress Sale Fundraiser, this truly cannot be a real thing". But it is a very real thing and has been one of the most successful fundraisers we have ever had. The last time we ran this fundraiser we made several thousand dollars and we are excited about the potential to raise that kind of money again. 

So what exactly is a mattress fundraiser?

It is exactly what it sounds like.... On Sunday, May 17th, 2026 from 10am-5pm we are turning the High School Gymnasium into a mattress showroom and will be selling mattresses at a discounted price from some of the top mattress brands available.

Why mattresses?

It seems like a weird fundraiser, right? Who would even think of a mattress sale being a successful fundraiser? But the truth is, purchasing a new mattress is often one of the most neglected and forgotten things in our house. Everyone knows someone who is in serious need of a new mattress. You may even have a mattress or two in your house that is over a decade old and there is never a convenient time or major sale on mattresses until now. I bought a new mattress at our last fundraiser for my son, my parents bought all new mattresses and bed frames for their entire house and we all love them. So whether you need a mattress or someone you know does, please let everyone know we are having a mattress sale.

How does the fundraiser work?

It works the same way as any mattress store. You show up, browse some mattresses, try a bed, take a nap, and then decide what you want to purchase. There are CFS staff on hand to help you purchase or finance and the mattress is delivered to your home in a few weeks. The mattresses are all made after ordering so they don't stay in a warehouse.

How are the mattresses discounted?

Since the members of the music department are responsible for advertising the sale and we provide a space for the mattresses to be sold, that savings gets passed on to you. The discounts will vary depending on size, brand, and quality of the mattress. Even if you feel like you aren't getting a huge discount, buying the mattress through us will help our fundraiser. Educators, military, and first responders will receive additional discounts. 

What is this raising funds for?

I know it seems like we are doing a lot of fundraisers lately but it is for a good reason. We are planning on an extended overnight trip next spring (2027) and we want to make sure every student has a variety of ways to raise money for their trip. Every dollar we raise will be going towards lowering the cost of the trip for our students. This fundraiser will end up being the most significant way to help students lower their trip cost. It will help the overall price but also give the students a chance to raise funds individually. Every person that buys a mattress and drops a student's name at the sale, that student will make money towards their trip in addition to the music program making money to lower the cost of the trip.

What if I don't want to buy a mattress?

We still need your help. Like I said, in order for this mattress sale to work, we need you to be the advertisers. Every student will be receiving a stack of flyers to pass out to their family and friends. We will provide each student a yard sign to place in either their yard or around town. Lastly, please share the attached flyers and pictures on your social media accounts. If we get the word out, this fundraiser works amazingly well. I know it is super weird to tell people about a mattress fundraiser but now that you have all the information, hopefully you can answer basic questions about it as you help us advertise. This is my favorite fundraiser I have ever done. It is so easy that last time, I took a nap during it. :) We just need people to enter the door and the mattress people handle the rest.
